Spring 2013 Update

Wow! I cannot believe I have not updated our blog since November 2012! As you can see, we have had a very busy 4.5 months. Baseball has started, Mackenzie is running (and talking and climbing, etc.)everywhere, and I am wearing as many hats as I can possibly handle at work and home. Life is cRaZy at the Smith home! 2013 has been a very trying year for our little family. We lost Perry to a disease called HLH. It broke the Perry family's hearts having to bury her at 23 years of age. I think about her often. We have also had other things pop up this year. The devil is definitely trying to steal those fun moments in life from us. I will tell you what, our God is bigger! In other news, Ben did get a new vehicle, so good-bye to the ole old Ford F-150. I'm glad to see that gas guzzler out of our driveway. Ben loves (understatement) his Acura TL. He looks so cute jamming out to it with a baby seat in the back (HA!) Below are a few pictures of some events from 2013.

McCool/Smith Reunion

The month of October has been a busy month! We we able to attend the McCool reunion in South Mississippi and the Smith reunion in South Alabama. Below are a few pictures.

Halloween 2012!

We had a fun Halloween this year!Ben was stoked to carve the pumpkin because he was looking forward to cooking the pumpkin seeds. Mackenzie wanted to get involved so she helped Daddy scoop the seeds and goo from the pumpkin. On Halloween, we went to a neighbor's home to trick-or-treat then headed to Temple Baptist Church for the Pumpkin Fest. It was like a carnival. There was horseback riding, cotton candy, popcorn, cakewalks, petting zoo, among many other things. We love Temple and are excited to see what they do for the community! Below are some pictures from Mackenzie's first (real) Halloween ;). The first few pictures are from the Pumpkin Patch in Collins. This is a must for the Halloween season. Great, kid-friendly place to go!

Florence High School Class of 2002 Reunion

I had the responsibility to put our 10 year high school class reunion together since I was class president. Boy was it a lot of work! Thank goodness I had some good friends to help me out (Brian Clark and Melessa Redditt…among others). We all met Friday night and tailgated by the football field for FHS’s homecoming—it was a blast! I was able to see all my friends I had not seen in 10 years! It does fly by. Saturday night we met at a local church’s community center to have dinner. We reminisced about old times and shared stories. Below are a few pictures. You will be able to tell which ones were from my senior year. :)

Mackenzie's First Birthday!

Family and close friends gathered on Saturday, August 11 at Mem and Papaw's home to celebrate a special little girl's first birthday. Below are some pictures from this special occasion.
