Memorial Day Weekend

First stop for the holiday weekend was at Vivi and Pops in Laurel. We cooked out for lunch there and headed back after seeing everyone in their neighborhood. It was a great day and Mackenzie stayed on her routine (happy baby, happy Mom and Dad).

On Memorial Day, we invited around seven families to grill out at the house for lunch. Some were old friends and some we made yesterday. We are so fortunate to have a lot of military in our neighborhood. So, we invited a few to join in on the fun.

You know, Ben and I don't need a yearly holiday to remind us of all they do and have done for our great county. We are blessed to wake up daily and be reminded. Anyway, everyone had a blast! They arrived at 11 and left at 5. (It must have been a hit!) We had deer burgers, hot dogs, chips and dip, baked beans (which I forgot to put on the table and am left with!!!!!) and wonderful ice cream desserts.

After everyone ate, a game of baseball was started by Rick Maddox. It was Grownups vs. Kids. The Grownups won at the end. Yes, it was 95+ degrees outside, but the memories and fun we had were priceless.
