Mackenzie @ 7 Weeks!

Our little girl seems to be growing up so fast! This weekend was a big weekend for her. After she and I traveled back from Florence for a few days, we picked up her dad and headed to our friends for supper. She did great! We were so afraid her colic would act up. She got a little fussy toward the end, but who wouldn't when they have been up most of the day fighting sleep.

Sunday, we all three went to church for the first time together. I was a nervous wreck thinking she would give them fits in the nursery. We got a good report on her when we picked her up.

Sunday night ended with a bath. Mackenzie loves her baths. Good thing because her dad and I are pretty clean folks! :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

I packed Mackenzie up for Mem & Papaw's to celebrate his birthday week. We had a really fun time and had a lot of firsts:

1. Mackenzie got to celebrate her first birthday party and I'm sure she looks forward to hers in 11 months. :(
2. She is starting to coo more and more now. Dad and her had a conversation last night. It was a hoot! I wish I had gotten it on camera.
3. Colic has hit. :( Poor Mackenzie has had a tough 6 weeks--from jaundice to colic. What is next, teething?

Mackenzie's 2 Week Update

Mackenzie's two week check-up went well this week. The pediatrician told me as I left a few weeks ago that she should gain weight from this point forward. I want to do everything perfect, so I was praying she had gained plenty when we returned on Friday. Boy did she. Mackenzie weighed 7 lbs 11 oz at birth. She dropped to 7 lbs 6 oz when I went to her one week check-up. Well, get this folks--Mackenzie weighed on Friday 8 lbs 13 oz at her two week check-up. I wanted to jump up and down.

In other news, our good friends Ben and Becca Tharp had their baby girl, Kate Elise, on Wednesday. She is a cutie. Mackenzie and I went to visit them (even though I am trying to keep her in until her 6 week shots) and Becca sent me a picture. They are going to be instant bff's. :) Below are a few pictures from this week.

Mackenzie Faye Smith has ARRIVED!

On August 14, 2011 at 10:28 a.m. Mackenzie Faye Smith graced us with her presence. She is beautiful and full of hair. Ben nor me had much when we were born. I have been super busy with her and my two online classes I am teaching, so I'm sorry for the delayed post.

She has changed a lot since these pictures. I will get an updated one soon--probably a month. LOL!
