I am finally posting some pictures from the family reunion 2009. This has been a very enjoyable summer thus far. I hope everyone had a great time in Helen, GA because I did. Driving through Atlanta wasn't too fun, but the end result made it worth it! Hope to see everyone next year as Mom and Dad host it in Birmingham, AL.

Closing the doors

Well, Mooreco is finally closing its doors after 30+ years of business. Mart 51 will be a little lonely, but Jerry Perry can be found across the highway at Fred's Pharmacy. Mooreco was only closed to open other doors out there. Congrats Dad on 30 plus great years of business. Love you!

My Hero

So, ..Father’s Day is coming up. I think it gets a little overshadowed by Mother’s Day. But, I do have to say I have a father that deserves some recognition. I am sure my sisters can agree that he is by far the best dad anyone can ask for. Yeah, he fits the mold for those fathers out there that hands you money as you are running out the door on a Saturday night—but I bet yours didn’t ask for the change! You have to love Daddy (as I pronounce Deddy).

When I would date in college, I would look for the qualities my Daddy has—intellectual, successful, godly, wise, loving, and the list goes on. I look more and more at my Dad now and days. I look because I admire him so much. I not only want to marry someone just like him, but be just like him.

I look back at old photos and see how I use to get so embarrassed by the little things he would do. I now see myself wanting to pass those moments down one day—and I will. As my aunt used to say about me, “…Little Jerry.” I commented back saying, “I’m not Jerry, I’m Amy” (at the young age of three). The truth is, I am just like my father and am not ashamed. I have to be the luckiest person on this earth. He truly has accomplished his goal to be like Christ.

I only hope one day that I can be my child’s dancing partner, a shoulder to lean on during break-ups, and a buddy to ride roller coasters with. I am so richly blessed. Happy Father’s Day, Deddy. You are my hero!

Work Hard, Play Harder

These past few months have been busy, busy, busy! I was able to get away from work/Ben's ballgames and visit Brooks in Oxford and boy did we have a blast! Let me first tell you, like I told everyone else, I really like the town but loathe the college. No appologies whatsoever for that comment! :)

Not only did I get to enjoy a wonderful two nights on the square, but hung with Brooks at his new store. I am SO PROUD of him! For those that don't know, He started a jewelry store on The Square and has been doing great! He is in Florida, as I write, selling jewelry at a golf tournament. Oh! I cannot forget seeing Avery at Double Decker, too! She is getting SO TALL!!

Anyway, I was able to witness the big attraction in Oxford that is written about in all southern magazines—hearing Dixie blared throughout The Square from a bar called The Library. It's such a beautiful song.

Today, April brought Larkin to visit for Mother's day. She has my heart! I posted a few pictures from April and her visit.

Last but not least--Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. I'll let you in on a little secret--I have the best! Love you, Mama!

I Get On My Knees
